With a record of 1-17-0, the Saints are at the bottom of the BCIHL standings. But don’t let their record fool you, this is a much-improved Selkirk team from last season. Selkirk has been on the losing end of seven contests this season decided by three or less goals. Notable amongst those losses are narrow, one-goal defeats to league-leaders
Scott Traverse leads the Saints in scoring with 10 points (2G-8A) while November 14th BCIHL Player of the Week, Travis Herlein is a close second with 9 points (7G-2A). Joining Traverse and Herlein on the Saints’ first line is Scott Jago, a player that is no stranger to
UVIC is coming off a road trip to Castlegar, the home of the Saints, two weeks ago where they earned a hard-fought four points. Matthew Bell still leads all UVIC scorers with 24 points (9G-15A), good enough for a fourth place tie in BCIHL scoring. UVIC rookies Dennis Pavlina and Mark Prest have contributed nicely to offensive production with 15 and 14 points, respectively.
Puck drops are scheduled for 9:30 PM on Friday, February 4th and 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 5th. Both games will be held at UVIC’s Ian Stewart Complex Arena.
