About the BCIHL

The British Columbia Intercollegiate Hockey League was created with the purpose of offering a venue for competitive, high-calibre ice hockey for players beyond their junior and minor hockey careers. The league is in its 5th official season and players generally have Midget AAA or Junior B experience with elite players coming out of Junior A and WHL programs.

Currently, seven teams - Selkirk College, Simon Fraser University, Trinity Western University, Eastern Washington University, the University of Victoria, Thompson Rivers University and Okanagan College - compete in the BCIHL.

Each BCIHL team plays a 24-game league schedule that is comprised of two 2-game home-and-away series with each competitor. The top four teams from the league's regular season then face-off in the BC Intercollegiate Hockey League Championships, a round-robin format tournament held each year in March.
